Arsenal's Arteta, Debuchy sidelined for three months by surgery

Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta and defender Mathieu
Debuchy will both be out until April after underging surgery.
Arteta had a bony spur removed from his left ankle, while Debuchy had
his separated right shoulder operated on, the Premier League club
said on their website Thursday.
Arteta, 32, has not played since a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in
the Champions League on November 26.
"He had a limited mobility in his ankle and some persistent
inflammation that had an impact on his calf," manager Arsene Wenger
said. "That meant we had to make the decision to have surgery and
it's a proper solution which gives him the best chance to recover."
Debuchey, 29, was injured when he collided with Marko Arnautovic in
Sunday's 3-0 win over Stoke.
"It's very unfortunate for Mathieu, it's unbelievable because he's
had two surgeries in the same season," Wenger said. "He just came
back, he played seven games and he's out again."
Debuchey returned to the Arsenal lineup in December after missing
three months following ankle surgery.
